About Us
Erika Moreyra, an entrepreneur by heart, started selling swimwear among friends in college. Her peers candidly remember her walking around campus with the “bolsa de bikinis”, a bag full of bikinis which she had personally designed.
Shortly after college, while vacationing in Brazil, Erika decided to take her passion to the next level, and the idea of Praia Brava was born.
Influenced by her parents, travels and inspired by Perú´s lively culture and rich traditions, Erika combined her influences with handmade finishes and attention to detail when she launched her brand. Her experience in all areas of the business helps her understand women´s needs to ensure everyone finds an exquisite piece in her collections.
Praia Brava has become one of the top swimwear brands in Peru, employing dozens of local, operating several boutique stores, and all under a growing international presence.
Sustainable Fashion
For us in Praia Brava, sustainable fashion is more than a focus on textiles; it is an environmental, social and ethical commitment. For these reasons we have launched Praia Brava ECO, our latest line based on long lasting material that use less water during production and are biodegradable. Benefitting the local economy, artisans are employed for the handcrafted enhancements of our unique pieces. Furthermore, we have implemented a program to facilitate the development of satellite units of entrepreneur seamstresses in the outskirts of Lima, Peru.
Our team – Women Empowerment
We were envisioned, created, and currently led by women. Our team of designers, pattern makers, sales personnel, administrative staff, and artisan are 99% women. We collaborate daily for our personnel and brand success. We are an amazing team who have worked together for more than 20 years to build what Praia Brava is today.
